Principal – Luis Echegaray 

Kia ora, ko Luis tōku ingoa. I have had the privilege of being Principal at West Park School since June 2013. Since then I have been rewarded by being part of a school community that looks to offer every student the opportunity to succeed through an inclusive, caring and engaging educational environment.

I really enjoy nature, making things from timber, seeing the beauty in little things around me, and learning new skills. For me ‘change’ is an exciting word filled with opportunities and rewards.

Deputy Principal – Emily Osborn

Hi, I am a Deputy Principal and Team Leader here at West Park School. As part of my role I get to work closely with the Management Team and I regularly work in classes releasing teachers for their classroom release, leadership release, or provisionally certified release time.

Deputy Principal – Jayne Taylor

Kia Ora Tatou. I am excited to be a part of the staff at West Park School. I have taught across New Zealand, in both city and rural schools, and have taught all year levels to Year 8. Here at school I am a deputy principal and team leader, mentor a provisionally registered teacher and lead areas of professional development across the school, including the curriculum areas of Mathematics and Literacy with Emily Osborn.  Prior to being at West Park School , I was at Evans Bay Intermediate school, where I was part of the leadership team, including one year as Acting Deputy Principal. I have a  love of learning and recently completed a Master in Mathematics Education. I also have interests in assessment practices and coaching and mentoring teachers. I take pleasure in being able to utilise these interests in my role at West Park.
