Junior Syndicate Philosophy


In the Junior Syndicate we aim to provide a warm and stimulating environment which welcomes children to school and encourages them to be:

challenged,
successful,
happy,
secure,
confident,
responsible,
independent and
take on leadership duties.

To achieve this aim we:

Provide programmes of work which address children's needs.
Celebrate success with awards, praise, stickers, displays of work and recognition at assemblies.
Encourage children to try new tasks.
Set firm behaviour boundaries.
Foster positive attitudes and values towards each other.

Middle Syndicate Philosophy


In the Middle Syndicate we aim to provide a warm and stimulating environment that encourages children to be:

challenged,
successful,
happy,
motivated,
secure,
confident,
responsible and
independent.

To achieve this aim we:

Treat all children as unique individuals.
Celebrate success.
Encourage children to take risks without fear of failure.
Set firm behaviour boundaries.
Foster positive attitudes and values towards each other.

Senior Syndicate Philosophy


Teaching in any area of the curriculum has, as before, been based on the following principles:

That there be strong mutual respect between pupils.
That there be an equally strong mutual respect between teachers and pupils.
That all children have, or acquire, the confidence to perform any task asked of them with success.
That children take responsibility for their actions and behaviour.
That each child gain skills in time management so that they may work towards becoming independent learners.
That there be equal opportunity for all children to capitalise on opportunities given.
That each subject be treated with equal emphasis and importance.
That children should feel risk taking is something to be applauded.
